Are we ready for the
future? This question has probably struck each of our minds at a certain stage
of our lives. And certainly, for a moment we did question ourselves “Are we
actually ready for the future”. Perhaps, I would be right if I say that we
aren’t ready for future until we are prepared for it. It’s an apt thought that
we are our own destiny creators, we set the goal, create paths and strive hard
to achieve them. Like a lighthouse that guides the ship in the same manner we
lead the way to our lives.

Gone are the days when
a persons’ knowledge was his most influential possession today the world admires
those who are informative to a great extent. Talking
about knowledge it can easily be acquired by all those theory books we skim
through in college or by being good at academics. But is that knowledge enough
to get into an industry? The answer Is obviously ‘NO’. Apart from knowledge acquired
its necessary to develop skills. Skills that bridges the gap between Academia
and Industries, skills that fills up the space of our resume in a way that it
appeals to others. Knowledge is knowing tomato is a fruit, intelligence is to
know not to add tomato to a fruit salad.
Well no one is going to
jostle you to work on your skills. It’s the concept of inside-out. The
initiative or the belief to work on it must come from within which a proactive
person can very well relate to.
According to me this
generation students do not really have to rely on colleges as we have many
other sources to improve or enhance our skills from, when it comes to
devlopement of our skills for the practical world. Acquired skills will bring
out the confidence and aid us assess problems as challenges. This will not just
make a student industry friendly but industry ready too.
